Sludge and Scale Chemical Analysis

In the current phase of oil production enormous amount of water is produced with oil including reservoir water and water injected for reservoir pressure maintenance. Water cutting of well stream in all phases of field development causes sedimentation. Scale building up in flow string of the well, on borehole pumps, in oil gathering and in-field treatment systems lead to considerable production losses and to tangible costs for scale removal. To prevent scale build-up and to find scale removal method, it is necessary to know composition of deposits and scale, and sedimentation cause..

Chemical analysis of sludge and scale includes:

  • Sampling of sludge and scale from field equipment;
  • Chemical and mineralogical analysis;
